Terms and Conditions
Welcome to The Practice Platform. By purchasing a membership, booking an in-person class, or accessing the online library, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
Please read these terms carefully before purchasing or booking.
1. General
The Practice Platform is an online and in-person movement and wellness platform offering Pilates classes, movement practices, guided meditations, journalling, face massage and other wellness content.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all memberships, in-person classes, online content and services provided by The Practice Platform.
The Practice Platform reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated to active members where appropriate.
2. Membership Payments
Memberships are charged monthly on a recurring basis using the payment method selected at the time of sign-up.
Membership fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable.
Your membership remains active for the duration of your current billing period, regardless of how frequently you access the online library or attend in-person classes.
Membership fees are not dependent on attendance. If you choose not to attend classes during your membership period, unused membership access or classes cannot be exchanged for a refund, credit or future membership period.
3. Membership Plans
3.1 Local Membership – R750 per month
The Local Membership is available to members who wish to attend in-person Pilates classes in Kalk Bay and includes:
Two (2) in-person Pilates classes per week, subject to availability and advance booking
Full access to The Practice Platform online content library for the duration of the active membership
All in-person classes are subject to availability and must be booked in advance.
A Local Membership does not guarantee a place in a specific class unless the member has completed the required booking.
Missed Classes
Membership classes are allocated on a weekly basis.
If a member is unable to attend a booked or available class, the unused class cannot be carried over, accumulated, banked or credited towards a future week or month.
Membership classes cannot be exchanged for cash, refunds or credits.
Membership is based on access to the weekly class allowance rather than a bank of individual classes.
3.2 Founding Member Membership
Founding Member pricing is a special, preferential membership rate offered to members who joined The Practice Platform's local membership during its founding period.
Founding Members who remain continuously subscribed and in good standing will retain their applicable Founding Member rate of R600 per month, subject to these Terms & Conditions.
The Founding Member rate is a legacy benefit and is not the current standard Local Membership price.
The current standard Local Membership rate is R750 per month.
Cancellation of Founding Membership
If a Founding Member cancels or terminates their membership, their Founding Member rate will no longer apply.
Should a former Founding Member wish to rejoin The Practice Platform at a later date, they will be required to join at the current Local Membership rate applicable at the time of rejoining.
At the time of these Terms & Conditions, the current Local Membership rate is R750 per month.
Pausing a Founding Membership
A temporary pause of membership may be considered at the discretion of The Practice Platform and is not an automatic entitlement.
Any pause must be agreed to in writing before the relevant billing period.
An agreed temporary pause does not constitute cancellation and may allow a Founding Member to retain their Founding Member rate when their membership resumes.
The specific terms and duration of any pause will be agreed upon on a case-by-case basis.
Founding Member memberships remain subject to all applicable membership, booking, cancellation and class attendance terms outlined in these Terms & Conditions.
3.3 Online Membership – R300 per month
The Online Membership includes:
Full access to The Practice Platform online content library
Access to online Pilates classes, movement practices, guided meditations, journalling, face massage and other available online content
Access to the online library for the duration of the active membership
The Online Membership does not include access to in-person Pilates classes in Kalk Bay.
4. In-Person Pilates Classes
In-person Pilates classes are held at the location and times communicated by The Practice Platform.
Class spaces are limited due to the size of the studio and are available on a first-booked basis.
A maximum of twelve (12) client spaces are available per class.
All clients, including Local Members and Founding Members, must book their place in advance.
A membership does not automatically reserve a place in a class unless the member has completed the required booking process.
The Practice Platform reserves the right to adjust class schedules, locations, capacity or availability where reasonably necessary.
5. Class Bookings
All in-person classes must be booked in advance.
Bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once the booking process has been completed.
Members are responsible for booking their own classes and ensuring that they attend the classes they have booked.
Drop-in clients must complete the required booking process and payment before their place in a class is confirmed.
A booking does not automatically carry over to another class or week.
6. Cancellations and Changes to Bookings
If you are unable to attend a class you have booked, please cancel or notify The Practice Platform as soon as possible.Where a booking is cancelled with sufficient notice, the space may be offered to another client or someone on the waiting list. Membership classes remain subject to the missed-class policy outlined in Section 3.1 and cannot be carried over into a future week or month.
Drop-in bookings are subject to the cancellation terms communicated at the time of booking.
Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the loss of the booking or payment, depending on the type of booking and the applicable cancellation terms.
7. Waiting List
When a class reaches its maximum capacity, clients may be able to join a waiting list where this option is available.
Being placed on a waiting list does not guarantee a place in the class.
If a space becomes available, it may be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
The Practice Platform is not responsible for spaces that become available at short notice if the client is unable to accept the place.
8. Membership Cancellation
Members may cancel their recurring membership at any time.
Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Membership fees already paid are non-refundable.
Once a membership has been cancelled, access to the online library and any associated membership benefits will end at the conclusion of the applicable billing period.
Cancellation of a Founding Member subscription will result in the loss of Founding Member pricing.
If a former Founding Member subsequently rejoins, the current Local Membership rate at the time of rejoining will apply.
9. Online Library Access
Access to The Practice Platform online library is available only while the applicable membership is active.
Membership access is personal to the individual member and may not be shared with or transferred to another person.Members may not reproduce, distribute, sell, share, download or commercially exploit the content provided through The Practice Platform without prior written permission.
